Is there something you would like to know about OKButton?
Here are some of our most frequently asked questions to help you out!
Is my data safe with OKButton?
Yes, your data will not be used or shared elsewhere. We will update our privacy policy as soon as we have more information on our data-handling within the app.
What inspired OKButton?
I, Jackson, the founder, was at a low point in my life, and I wanted to let people know I was OK, but I did not have the energy for a full-blown conversation. I realised that others felt this way, and the concept for OKButton was born! I’ve written a full blog about how the OKButton app got started.
How does OKButton work?
It’s simple; you can send, receive and request notifications from people so that you know they are OK. Communication without the communication; think of it as a digital nod or thumbs up.
Are you a medical app?
We do not see ourselves as a medical app but understand the proximity to the medical world. OKButton is a pure and simple communication app to keep in touch with your friends and family.
Can people track me via OKButton?
There are plans to integrate GPS into future updates, but this will be purely for reminders and location-based features. The location information will only share with your contacts when you wish to do so and will not be available to anyone outside of your chosen contacts.
Will there be updates in the future?
There are lots of ideas to expand on the initial version of the app. Our OKButton team are confident other changes will be inspired by feedback from users and their suggestions! Take a look at the OKButton features roadmap.
This is amazing; how can I get involved?
We are excited to share our app with you and get your feedback! Sign up for the OKButton Beta!
Will this app be Google Android and Apple iOS?
Currently, the app is only being developed for Apple iOS whilst we’re in the early stages of the development. We do have plans to fund and develop an Android version soon. Watch this space!
What will the money you raise on JustGiving be spent on?
The app is in its prototype stage and fast approaching beta, but we need more funding to move it on.
With further funding, we can develop the app further and invest a little into getting the name out there. We will need several hundred hours of development time to get the app into the iOS App Store. We have spent around 250 hours on planning, content, website/marketing and UI design but need a little extra help to keep up the momentum!

What does it take to get an app out there? Time, effort and money? OKButton is a project of passion, and we need your help to make it happen
